Monday,
Oct. 8 – Yellow Knolls – (Red Cliffs Desert Reserve)
This is a great hike to see Southern Utah’s
Red Rocks! Enjoy picturesque views as we
wind through a valley with beautiful sandstone formations. View slickrock and expansive checkerboard
faces similar to those found in Zion National Park. Low land desert landscape and sandy trails
along the way. A lot of walking in sand,
but worth every step. If you struggle
with balance, please bring walking sticks on this one.

Tuesday, Oct. 9 – Temple Quarry Trail
Follow the basalt boulders to the area of the mountain in
which the early Mormon colonizers began to mine solid stone basalt rocks for
the foundation of the Temple. You can
still see the holes from drilling and the blasting lines. Beautiful views and vistas.

Wednesday,
Oct. 10 - Historic St. George Live City Walk
Visit with some of the old pioneers as you see the historical
buildings in down town St. George. Meet
Brigham Young, Jacob Hamlin and more! We
will first travel to Santa Clara to take a brief tour of Jacob Hamblin’s home
and then drive over to the St. George historical district. We will see the Tabernacle, Court house,
Opera house, and Brigham Young’s winter home!

Friday, Oct. 12 – Anasazi Ridge
Petroglyphs
See some outstanding petroglyphs representing 6,000 years
of human habitation and use. The site
has some of the best petroglyphs in the area.
Also enjoy seeing the remains from a pre-historic Ancestral Puebloan
Farmstead.

Monday,
Oct. 15 – Snow Canyon State Park, Lava Flow Overlook
The locals call it “the Lava Tubes” but we will only be
enjoying the overlook trail and seeing the entrance to the “tubes” . A moderate trail that will takes us past
three lava tube or cave entrances. Enjoy
beautiful views of Snow Canyon State park, lowland plants and possible wildlife
sightings. Past the lava flow entrance,
we will enjoy the overlook viewpoint.

Tuesday,
Oct. 16 - Virgin River Trail - Old Bridge
Enjoy a leisure walk up a small portion of the Virgin
River Trail system to see the remnants of the old bridge that was washed away. Trail follows north along the Virgin River
from the Confluence trail head to the river road bridge. This is a down and back walk on a paved
trail. If you would like more of a walk
(apx 1 ½+) when we get to the bridge, on your own, you can continue the trail
and do a loop ending back at the confluence.
We are just doing the up and back.
We will be walking from the check in station.

Thursday,
Oct. 18 – Chuckwalla Trail off Highway 18
Enjoy the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve by walking a portion
of the Chuckwalla trail system. See
beautiful red rock formations, scenic vistas, and slick rock sandstone. Possible wildlife sightings of lizards,
hawks, roadrunners and others.
