This year marks the 32nd year of the Huntsman World Senior Games. Over 11,000 people will travel from around the world for the two week competition held each October in St. George, Utah. In addition to the sport competitions the Huntsman World Senior Games offers a myriad of activities for athletes.

New to the list this year is a service project. This addition will be known as “The Friendship Project.” Athletes, official fans and volunteers can donate time at the Dixie Center on either Sunday (October 7th and 14th) from 9 am – 5 pm. This year’s project is to make 200 No-Sew Tie Blankets that will be prepared, packaged and donated to patients receiving treatments at the Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI).

Our mission at the Games is to foster worldwide peace, health, and friendship and we feel ‘The Friendship Project’ is a good addition to help fulfill that mission.
One of our goals of having service projects available during the Games is to inspire people to go home and continue the mission of our Games by continuing to serve those around them.

We hope you will spend a few minutes tying a blanket or writing a note of inspiration and hope to those who may be suffering. Thanks in advance for your service, love, and support of ‘The Friendship Project!’
