St. George, Utah – The Huntsman World Senior Games was awarded the Best of State medal for the sporting event category for the seventh time in the last eight years.

The Best of State Awards were created to recognize outstanding individuals, organizations and businesses in Utah. The judges of the competition look for entrants that excel in their industry, use innovative approaches or methods and contribute to a better quality of life in Utah.

“We are both proud and honored to receive this prestigious award,” said Kyle M Case, CEO of the annual event. “To be recognized among so many great sporting events in the state of Utah is amazing. Utah is the state of sport and it’s exciting to be considered among the top of an incredible field.”

Case and the Director of Sponsor Relations, Michelle Graves were on hand to accept the award at the black tie event.

“No one accomplishes anything by themselves. We happily accept this award on behalf of everyone who makes the Games possible. We have a great staff that works year around and keeps track of all the details. We have well over 3,000 amazing volunteers who give of their time and talents and contribute to our overall success. And of course we can’t forget the more than 11,000 inspiring, incredible athletes who take part each year,” added Case.

The Huntsman World Senior Games were founded in 1987by John Morgan on the principles of fostering worldwide peace, health and friendship. Every year over 11,000 athletes from all around the world come to St. George, Utah, USA, to test themselves in their choice of 32 different sports. The Games adds over $17 million to the local economy and has a return rate of over 80%.

Registration for the Games is open until September 1, 2019. Athletes who are interested in participating in the 2019 Games can visit and reserve their spot.
