After a one year hiatus the Huntsman World Senior Games returns. Over 2,500 athletes checked-in at the Dixie Convention Center, as the first step in preparation for competition.
One of the highlights of the day was the Endurance Awards. Led through the convention center by a bagpiper in full regalia, athletes receiving awards marking 15, 20, 25 and even 30 years of participation where honored. Fifteen-year participations receive a beautiful commemorative ring. Those who have competed for two decades receive a watch. For the 25-year athletes, a sandstone trophy is presented. And the 30-year participants are awarded a much coveted letterman’s jacket.
“At the Huntsman World Senior Games, we celebrate endurance and longevity. The Endurance Awards is one of my favorites. It’s so fun to see familiar faces, especially this year after our break,” commented, Kyle M Case, Huntsman World Senior Games CEO.
“I see so many friends during this event,” added Bonnie Kabey, staff member.
