Bike Tour

REGISTRATION: Register by choosing Bike Tour in the registration system.

LOCATION: Every leg begins and ends at the Dixie Convention Center/Crosby Family Confluence Park.
The Tour will access several points of interest around St. George roads and multi-use path system. Riders will ride out and back, or a loop, for each leg of the tour.

PARKING: Park at the Dixie Convention Center,1850 South Convention Center Drive, St. George, start each leg of the tour at Crosby Family Confluence Park just under the bridge to the south of the convention center.

ALL OPEN DIVISION: This is NOT a timed event. It is Non-Competitive.
It is not officiated.
No USAC license required.
It is an OPEN COURSE.
All bikes, mountain, tandem, recumbent, elipticals, or class 1, 2, 3 e-bikes are permitted. Heck, you can even walk if you want to.
All riders must wear helmets.
This is an open course with pedestrians, vehicles, and other cyclists.
Please obey all traffic rules, stay to the right, pass with care.
The bike paths in St. George have a 20 mph speed limit.

SCHEDULE: All legs must be completed between October 8 and October 21, 2023 by 12:00pm.

There will be a hole punch at the mid-way point of each leg. Be sure to punch your card to get credit. The map, punch card and instructions will be available starting October 8th at the Bike Rental booth in the Convention Center.

You may use your cycling app to track your rides. Download our maps to your app to guide you. (Strava, MapMyRide, Garmin, etc.)

For the chance to win additional prizes, take your camera with you (cell phone camera). Take a PHOTO at each suggested photo spot and use #worldseniorgames in your post. Or email photos to hello@seniorgames.net 

You have multiple days to complete the course.

IMPORTANT - Bring your punch card back to Rampage Rental booth to receive your prize. Different prizes will be awarded for completing part or all of the Tour.

THIS IS NOT PART OF THE CYCLING STAGE RACE AND WILL NOT COUNT TOWARD THE OMNIUM OR OVERALL WINNERS.

TOUR LEGS

MAYOR'S LOOP & SPRINGS PARK

Mayor’s Loop. 5.1-5.3 mile loop (Can be ridden clockwise or counterclockwise).
Pass through St. James Park.
Additional 2.8 miles out and back off Mayor’s Loop to Springs Park, turn off near River Rd.

 

CONFLUENCE PARK TO MAN OF WAR TO SUNRIVER

To SunRiver Clubhouse and back - 8.6 miles round trip

 

CONFLUENCE PARK TO HELL HOLE WITH MIDDLE WASH AND COTTONWOOD WASH

Along Virgin River bike path, includes out and back up Middleton Wash, through Sullivan Park, up Hell Hole Canyon, out and back up Cottonwood Wash and back - 21.6 miles

 

CONFLUENCE PARK THROUGH DOWNTOWN TO SNOW CANYON DRIVE

From the park, follow the Santa Clara trail to the path that goes under Dixie Drive. Follow the path and turn right on the path that goes under Bluff Street. From there, ride on Main Street, through downtown to Diagonal Street. From there, take the Bluff Street bike path to Snow Canyon Pkwy. to the Halfway Wash Trail and follow that down and back up to Snow Canyon Pkwy. Follow Snow Canyon Pkwy to Snow Canyon Drive and turn around. 21.85 miles.

NEW THIS YEAR!

Zion National Park - Rent an eBike from either Outta Here eBikes or Zion Cycles. From either location, ride through Springdale and enter through the pedestrian entrance. Take the Pa'Rus Bike Trail to the Scenic Canyon Drive. From there, you can ride all the way to the Temple of Sinawava. Aprox. 17 mile loop.

Bryce Canyon National Park - Rent an eBike from Outta Here eBikes and ride the bike path into Bryce Canyon (16 mile loop), into Red Canyon (18 mile loop) or ride the whole trail (34 mile loop).

Guided Bike Tours - Join a local guide as we depart from a location located just outside of Bryce or Zion. This will be a group ride activity that will focus on experiencing the National Parks by bike/eBike with a knowledgeable guide sharing information about geology, ecology, and human history. The rides will be 3-6 hours long are hosted by Zion Cycles. You will need to provide transportation to the departure location as well as a National Parks Pass.
