This year marks the 33rd year of the Huntsman World Senior Games. Over 11,000 people will travel from around the world for the two week competition held each October in St. George, Utah. In addition to the sport competitions the Huntsman World Senior Games offers a myriad of activities for athletes.
Because of the success of last year, we've decided to continue the service project known as “The Friendship Project.” Athletes, official fans and volunteers can donate time at the Dixie Center on either Sunday (October 6th and 13th) from 9 am – 5 pm. This year’s goal is to make 200 No-Sew Tie Blankets that will be prepared, packaged and donated to patients receiving treatments at the Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI).
Our mission at the Games is to foster worldwide peace, health, and friendship and we feel ‘The Friendship Project’ is a fantastic addition to help fulfill that mission. We hope that people will go home inspired to continue the mission of the Games by continuing to serve those around them.
Please plan to spend a few minutes tying a blanket or writing a note of inspiration and hope to those who may be suffering. Thanks in advance for your service, love, and support of ‘The Friendship Project!’
