The tremendous support of the City of St. George is easily recognized by superb venues such as the Canyons Complex where thousands of softball players come to compete for two full weeks in the largest slow-pitch event in the nation. St. George Area Convention and Visitors' Bureau Washington County is the hub of Color Country and the location for the Huntsman World Senior Games. Not only has the Bureau supported the Games with funding, it has provided thousands of volunteers, hotel rooms, food, and other contributions that make the Games possible. Brigham Young University BYU sponsors the Huntsman World Senior Games Health Screening and Healthy Lifestyle Lectures through their Health Science Department. The mission of Brigham Young University is "to assist individuals in their quest for perfection and eternal life." To this end, BYU seeks to develop students of faith, intellect, and character who have the skills and the desire to continue learning and to serve others throughout their lives. Expected outcomes of a BYU education are: 1) spiritual strengthening, 2) intellectual enlarging, 3) character building, and 4) lifelong learning and service. Stephen Wade also provides Official Volunteer t-shirts each year for more than 2,000 dedicated area residents who provide volunteer service before, during, and after the Games.
