REGISTRATION FOR THE TOUR HAD CLOSED. CONSIDER JOINING US AT THE HUNTSMAN WORLD SENIOR GAMES IN ST. GEORGE, UTAH, THIS OCTOBER.
The Huntsman World Senior Games invites you to be a part of an incredible two (2) week tour of CHINA with volleyball competition this July 24 - August 8, 2010. The tour will be escorted and in addition to the volleyball will include some amazing sightseeing at many sites including, Qingdao and its Annual Marine Festival, Weifang, Tai’an, Qufu (the birthplace of Confucius) and Beijing.
The Friendship Tour is a mixture of sightseeing and volleyball play. It is open to men (over age 50) and their family and friends. The volleyball will emphasize play… not skilled international tournament level competition. Senior volleyball is developing in China. Volleyball will be played in 3 cities (Qingdao, Weifang and Tai’an) for 1 ½ days each.
Teams will be made from individual players in each age group (50+, 55+, 60+, 65+, 70+) or from organized teams that apply. In the event there are not enough players in a specific age group, players may be combined. The number of teams will be restricted to twelve (12). Our host, Mr. Dewei Tang, has arranged for 12 Chinese teams in each city.
A full itinerary is available. A non-refundable $1,000.00 deposit is due by March 22, 2010. The balance must be paid by June 1, 2010.. The tour’s goal is cultural exchange & friendship. The not-for-profit cost is $3,720.00 for a player and $3,650.00 for a non-player. Price includes round trip airfare, transportation within China, hotels, volleyball facilities, and many of the meals.
A few frequently asked questions… Q. Do I need to have my whole team to join, or can I go by myself? A. Most of our travelers will be individuals. We will place individuals on a team based on age and skill. If your entire team wants to come, that is great.
Q. I live in the Midwest ...where do I go to start the tour? A. We expect players from all over the USA. We will be flying out of major cities in the USA with a direct flight to China. It is your responsibility to get to this city.
Q. Are NON-Players welcome? (Spouse, Partners, friends) A. Certainly…. Share the excitement of world travel with a friend.
Q. What do I have to do to secure my place / my team's place? We are working with a Chinese Travel Agency for registration and payments. Don’t delay. Registration must be done well in advance to guarantee this deeply discounted price. Registration will close March 22. A non-refundable $1,000.00 deposit must be paid on this date and the balance must be paid before June 1, 2010.
Q. What is included in the Tour package? A. The Tour package includes the following items: 1. All entrance fees to scenic spots as listed in the itinerary. 2. Transportation vehicles, drivers and excellent English-speaking guides. 3. Meals (Chinese food) as shown in the itinerary. 4. Three-star Hotels based on two (2) sharing one room (twin-bed room). Daily breakfast is included. Special room requirement subject to availability upon check-in. 5. Traveler insurance for non-players (30yuan per person, covers the trip in China within 20 days and the maximum benefit is 420,000yuan). Traveler insurance for volleyball players (80yuan per person, covers the Tour and games in China and the maximum benefit is 220,000yuan) 6. Airfare to/from departure city (Major US airport with direct flight to China. It is your responsibility to get to this airport), airport pick up (in China), and train tickets. 7. Two (2) numbered T-shirts for use during tournament play, balls, U.S. referee and gymnasium fees.
Q. What is NOT included in the Tour package? A. While the Tour package is quite inclusive, there are a few things that will be your responsibility, including: 1. Hotel room single supplement. 2. Personal expenses such as laundry, drinks, fax, telephone calls, optional activities, etc. 3. Gratuities to the tour guide, driver, hotel bellboy. 4. Services not mentioned in the itinerary. 5.
